ESGE: Before the endoscope is detached from the light source and video processor, detergent solution is sucked through the working channel and the air / water channel is flushed with water in order to remove debris and to check the correct functioning of the channel. The insertion tube is cleaned externally with a soft, disposable sponge / cloth.
Olympus: Immerse the distal end of the insertion section in the solution. Depress the suction valve on the endoscope and aspirate detergent through the endoscope for 30 seconds.
SGNA : Pre-Cleaning should be performed at the point of use, before bioburden has an opportunity to dry and before complete decontamination.
AAMI ST91;2015: To prevent build-up of bioburden, development of biofilms, and drying of secretions, precleaning should take place at the point of use immediately following the procedure.
